"There's a light on in Chicago, and I know I should be home."

Hey everyone.

I've decided to start a blog-type-ish thing. Here, on FOE. Not that I expect anyone really to read it or anything. Just because I'm cool like that and I'm kind of bored with nothing to do except watch reruns of Friends (and that sounds really appealing *sarcasm*).

First of all, introductions.

I'm Sam. I adore many things - topping the list are music, photography, writing, acting, debating and psychology. I'm 15 years old and have been born and bred in the lovely city of Chicago, Illinois (or thereabout), home of The Academy Is... as well as Pete Wentz and his infamous Fall Out Boys.

And right now, in a random suburb of the city of Chicago? It's been raining. It was pouring and lightninging and thundering and all good stuff like that. I love rain. Except when I'm going to an outdoor concert (please please please please don't let it rain tomorrow!!) or have to go run a bunch of errands.

But usually, I like to sit and watch the rain. I love the way it looks. The sky is crying, and we all feel its pain.

Whoa, dude, it's William Shatner! <--- I apologize, moment of randomosity.

Anyway.

I'll tell you about tomorrow. I'm going to see The Academy Is... and The Cab, two of my favorite bands. I'm super psyched. It should be a great show, and I'm hoping to get right up at the barricade. Lyrically, I look up to William Beckett so much and I can't believe I'm actually going to see him perform. Exciting stuff!!!!!!

So I took a vacation recently (I apologize for jumping around like this) to the rocky mountains and it made me feel kind of sad for everyone who doesn't live in the city. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's because I feel so close to the city. I feel like it lives within me - the city and I are one.

Yeah, I'm a city kid. No doubt.

And - not to offend anyone, this is just my opinion - the mountains are pretty and they're nice and stuff, but you go there, you hike a bit, you take some pictures, you say "Hey, that's cool," and you leave. The city offers endless possibilities. It's constantly changing. It is formed by all who live within it.

I love the city, the city loves me.
